I have often said that if I were born black in America, without tremendous love and guidance to protect me from the daily indignities of being black in America, I would have surely become a very bitter and dangerous person. Eventually I am sure that I would have ended up dead or in prison at a very young age, becoming part of the largest prison population in the history of the world. Of the many crimes my birth nation is responsible, the treatment of African American's is among the most shameful. Even worse is the fact that America as a whole has never genuinely acknowledged the massive injustice, instead it has shamelessly declared itself without pause as the "Land of the Free." To this day unarmed black men guilty of no crime are shot dead or beaten by U.S. agents who are supposed "To Protect and Serve." America is truly the "United States of Hypocrisy."

Only those who do not know brother Malcolm or who are simply hostile to him continue to focus on his earlier stages of evolution, during the periods where he was systematically intended to become just another dead or imprisoned "nigger." Malcolm did no such thing, instead he towered above the "racist cancer" of hatred and violence becoming the fearless leader who's spirit lives in me and countless others.
