These tattoos have the common theme of freedom. ‘Sovereign’ is what we all are, not just wanker royal families. We are all independent and sovereign human beings part of a greater whole. Each endowed with inherent human rights and each only needing to claim those rights in order to enjoy them. Until than most of us whether we know it or not are mere slaves in a system that beats us down and allows us a pittance of two pathetic days off a week.
Many do not even have that, they are often working two or even three jobs 40-50-60 hours a week or more simply to pay their bills. And amazingly some of them consider themselves “lucky” compared to their friends or family out on the street. Yet others are seriously struggling to survive in ways that we in the West hardly acknowledge and even worse 33,000 human beings a day are literally starving to death.
We are truly collectively enslaved by our own unwitting choice; but I refuse this existence and the tattoo reflects that. My path is different indeed and the riches I enjoy as a result are beyond what most currently fathom.
The bar code is my sarcastic way of addressing our collective enslavement. Micro-chips and more are on order so I thought I would beat the initial queues (that’s a line in American) and sort myself now. The bar code is actually from a packet of ground beef; kind like us really, disposable commodities controlled by our slave masters.
‘Born Free – Die Free’ is what I am and always will be; no matter whether I am diving in the big blue sea or sitting in a prison cell. Freedom is a state of mind and I am as free as anyone I have ever met. No matter what the risks of my chosen freedom I would rather live one day free than a whole life enslaved.
